Scaling New Heights: Stephanie’s Ben Nevis Challenge!

NEW

About The Ben Nevis Climb

One of the most iconic mountains in Scotland, Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the UK. It attracts thousands of visitors every year, both from home and abroad.

Q&A with Stephanie

We asked Stephanie, our Business Development Manager, a few questions about the climb that she will be doing up Ben Nevis.

Can you tell us more about why you are doing this climb?

“In 2014, I was diagnosed with triple-negative cancer at the young age of 28! After chemotherapy, radiotherapy, double mastectomy, and reconstruction, 9 years later I am still here to tell the tale. Which I will always be grateful for and will always try my best to support charities like Marie Curie Hospice which are close to my heart.”

What about this challenge stood out to you?

“I have wanted to do something outdoorsy for a while. However, no one I knew was up for it. So I signed up to do it alone with the support of a group doing it for charity, which I’m yet to meet! Since then, a friend has signed up too who works for Wheatfields Hospice, so we are now going as a pair!”

Why have you chosen to raise money for Marie Curie Hospice?

“They are gems for these families and individuals affected by terminal illnesses. Just the support they can give to the full family circle is amazing. We never know when any one of us could need them so let’s support them.”

About Marie Curie Hospice

Marie Curie is the UK’s leading end-of-life charity. They offer front-line nursing and hospice care, a free support line, and a wealth of information and support on the subject of death, dying, and bereavement.
