How 1-2-1 Sessions Can Help Residents’ Mental Wellbeing

NEW

At Athena Healthcare Group, we have 1-2-1 sessions with residents which allows us to find out about their history, and their likes and dislikes. We also create a memory book with the residents for their loved ones. We have a specific day with each resident to be able to go to the local market or just have a chat, allowing for time that  is dedicated to them.

What are 1-2-1 sessions?

1-2-1 sessions are individual sessions with a trained professional, such as a healthcare assistant, nurse, counsellor or therapist. During these sessions, individuals can discuss their thoughts, feelings, and emotions in a confidential and supportive environment. 1-2-1 sessions can help the individual to identify and address any issues that may be negatively impacting their mental well-being.

How can 1-2-1 sessions help residents’ mental well-being?

1-2-1 sessions can be particularly helpful for residents’ mental well-being in a number of ways. For example:

1. Providing a safe and supportive space

Residents can feel safe and supported in a 1-2-1 session, knowing that they can share their thoughts and feelings without fear of judgement or ridicule. This can be particularly important for individuals who may not have a support network outside of the session.

2. Identifying and addressing issues

During a 1-2-1 session, our residents can work with our staff members to identify any issues that may be negatively impacting their mental well-being. This can include anything from stress and anxiety to more serious mental health conditions.

3. Developing coping strategies

Once issues have been identified, our residents can work with our staff members to develop coping strategies. These strategies can help individuals to manage their emotions and improve their overall mental well-being.

Conclusion

At Athena Healthcare Group we listen and support. We are dedicated to our residents and their specific needs, whatever that might be, we are here.

We are here for you and your needs. Get in touch via email hello@ahcg.co.uk or give us a call on 01704 53 53 53.
