Work Experience at Marine View Lodge: Scarlett’s Experience

NEW

Scarlett recently completed work experience at Marine View Lodge so we asked her a few questions about how her time with us.

  1. How was your overall experience with Marine View Lodge?

“My experience during my week was excellent! I loved my whole experience and how diverse the care was for the residents. Caring for dementia residents to just general residents with medical issues. I really enjoyed my time at marine view lodge, and it gave me a big insight into how parts of healthcare can work”.

  • Why did you choose Marine View Lodge?

“I got my placement in the home as my mum is a registered nurse at the bank at Marine View Lodge and she told me it would be a great experience for me as I really want to go into the healthcare sector as a career. So, I contacted the home and they were happy to help :)”.

  • What was the most rewarding aspect of working with Marine View Lodge?

“The highlight of my week was when two residents were celebrating their 67th wedding anniversary and I was able to decorate a room for a special lunch they had to celebrate. It felt like I was making a difference when seeing how delighted they were that we made their day special”.

  • What have you learnt that you didn’t already know?

“One thing I learnt during my time at marine view lodge was how tailored care is to each individual resident. It showed me how all residents’ care needs were always priorities and were always met”.
