Charity ball hailed success

The Athena Foundation hosted its first charity ball this month to raise money for various charities including Claire House Children’s Hospice.

The event, which took place at Liverpool’s Hilton Hotel, launched the foundation’s new initiative that will support charities in the surrounding areas of Athena Healthcare Group’s care home lodges.

Hailed a huge success, the ball welcomed former Liverpool footballing legend, John Barnes, for an after-dinner speech while renowned Stephen Bayliss provided entertainment to the 200-strong crowd.

Group Events Ambassador for Athena Healthcare Group, Lesley Malone, said: “It’s very exciting to support local charities in the area.

“The purpose of the Athena Foundation is to support charities that are less recognised in the areas where our lodges are situated, giving them more of a voice to help raise awareness of the fantastic work they do!”

“All of the staff are caring, professional and treat clients respectfully and as individuals. They excel in their drive to provide the highest level of care whilst allowing a homely, intimate atmosphere to prevail. As a family, we are delighted that Abbey Wood Lodge opened in time to provide this excellent care for our relative and would have no hesitation in recommending it to others.”
